Just a single trim, and that’s the point: GWM hedged its bets on simplicity and value, but never really won the local loyalty war. That lone Hover up for grabs is showing 153,004 km, which is a hefty number for an SUV with parts support that’s basically a roll of the dice outside Gauteng. R69,500 buys you in, but it’s not a carefree proposition. This car was always about price first, and it still undercuts plenty, but the high mileage and patchy dealer footprint matter—especially when you’re budgeting for a daily runaround. Service? Best you know a GWM-friendly workshop, because you won’t find them in every dorp. If you pack smart and accept the unknowns, the Hover could be a left-field bargain, but you’ve got to want it for the right reasons.
