What it does offer is more presence than the Swift and a price point that’s not going to have you considering a second bond, with 101 active listings ranging from R269,800 to R372,900 — the sweet spot is around R319,900. That’s a number you can live with, especially since 72 of those are brand-new, which says dealers are piling these high and hoping South Africans bite before they start showing up at car washes across Joburg’s northern suburbs. Most buyers are snapping up the 1.5 GL 4AT, and on paper at least, it makes sense: 37 listings from R269,800 to R339,950, and you don’t have to mess with a clutch in Sandton traffic. The manual GL covers a narrow slice (R274,900–R303,900), but let’s be honest, there’s not much appetite for shifting your own gears in the city anymore. Used Fronx models are practically box-fresh, with average mileage under 7,000 km and dating from 2023 onwards, so you’re not inheriting someone else’s problems. What you’re really getting here, compared to something like a T-Cross, is a lower ceiling on price and running costs that won’t eat your lunch.
