Most people are shopping around the R589,950 mark, not scraping into the base spec. The 2.0 TSI 4Motion R-Line DSG is the one you’ll actually find, filling 15 out of those 26 slots and ranging wildly in price—R478,890 to R823,900—because mileage and condition are all over the place. Average mileage is 40,552 km, and you’re looking at 2021 to 2025 models, so infotainment is current and you won’t be dealing with tired interiors. If you pack smart and keep it urban, the 1.4 TSI Design Tiptronic makes more sense, starting at R389,950, and it’s what the T-Roc should have been from the start for most buyers. SA buyers are picky about what’s inside, and the T-Roc’s cabin feels more solid than a C-HR’s, which counts for a lot when R500k is on the table.
