You’ll spot just one listing at R269,900, which sums up its local impact: this is for the fans, not the masses. The example in question runs a diesel with an auto box, which lines up with its long-distance cruiser vibe. On paper at least, that R269,900 price looks tempting for something that once elbowed for space with the big Germans, but you’ve got to weigh the bigger picture. That lone FX/QX70 is a 2017 30d S, showing 123,674 km, and it’s the only trim you’re finding here now. Mileage is fair for its age, but what drew in buyers back then was the car’s low, aggressive stance and a whiff of Nissan GT-R DNA under the bonnet – a combination that promised more than the X5’s staid uprightness.
