Two nearly-new 2025 models are floating on the market, clocking just over 10,000 km each, which tells me you’re looking at dealer stock rather than tired used cars. Priced from R229,500 for the manual to R249,900 for the AMT, the R20,400 difference is standard fare for self-shifting convenience in this segment. Spec-wise, Hyundai keeps it simple – Premium and Premium AMT, nothing more, no flashy “Elite” or “N-Line” distractions. That actually makes sense for budget-conscious buyers who care more about running costs and monthly instalments than touchscreen sizes or leather trim. The Exter’s trump card is its aftersales footprint: parts, servicing, and resale all tend to play out better than some lesser-known rivals, especially if you’re banking on keeping the car for a few years. If you pack smart, the manual at R229,500 is hard to ignore, especially for students or young professionals commuting in Gauteng traffic. The AMT, at R249,900, asks a fair premium for the privilege of letting the car do the shifting when Sandton’s gridlock gets tedious.
