Ford’s Tourneo Custom plays in a pretty narrow field, but if you’ve ever had to cart a rugby team or run an airport shuttle in Joburg, you’ll know why these vans matter. The Quantum is everywhere for a reason, but the Tourneo brings more polish to the cabin and feels less agricultural on Gauteng’s battered roads. Power’s courtesy of 2.0-litre and 2.2-litre turbodiesels, and most buyers want the 8-speed auto for obvious reasons—stop-start city slog isn’t fun with three pedals.
