349+ Chery Cars for Sale in South Africa

Chery’s become a familiar sight on South African roads, especially for folks who want SUV size but aren’t keen to cough up Tiguan or Haval money. The numbers speak: 335 active listings, prices stretching from R89,995 up to a punchy R939,900, with most hovering just shy of R390k. That’s a proper spread, catering for first-time buyers and those looking to trade up without maxing out the credit card. Over 200 of those are pre-owned, too—crucial, because a thriving used market means buyers are actually trusting the brand. If you’re cross-shopping, Hyundai Creta and Toyota Corolla Cross are the obvious benchmarks, but Chery’s still finding ways to undercut them on price, and that’s the point.

The Tiggo 4 does the hard work here, with 100 listings from R199,900 to R469,900; it’s the obvious Creta alternative, and probably the car you’ll see outside your local Checkers. The Tiggo 7 and Tiggo 7 Pro climb the ladder a bit—think R279,900 to R539,320—while the Tiggo 8 Pro starts poking at the kind of money that’d get you looking at a Tiguan. Fancy something really ambitious? The Tiggo 9 stretches all the way to R939,900, which is a bold move for the brand. SUVs make up the overwhelming majority (225 out of 335), petrol remains the go-to, but hybrids and plug-in hybrids are starting to creep in. On paper at least, that gives Chery a trick the Creta and Haval can’t match at these sticker prices.
